DESCRIPTION: WW - Omega 6B/542 Royal Air Force Pilot's Watch, affectionately nicknamed the "Fat Arrow" due to the appearance of the British military broad arrow on the dial, ref 2777-1, circa 1953, manual wind, 37mm x 48mm to lug tips, 15mm solid lug width, original stainless steel screw back double caseback for added anti-magnetic properties, leather military style strap, black tritium replacement dial with white Arabic numerals (see note at end), 17J cal 283, RAF service number 6865, movement s#12804217, triple signed. Note regarding the dial: In the mid-1960s, the Ministry Of Defence had the watches recalled by Omega and fitted with the less radioactive material Tritium now found on this watch.
CONDITION: Mvt: GRO, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, very light oxide to screw heads, light tarnish to plates; excellent dial with light discoloration and spotting along the perimeter; excellent tritium hands; lightly polished case shows very little wear, several light dings on the tops of the top right lug and bottom left lug; original crown shows little wear; good plastic crystal.
